Razah Let's It "Rain"

With a stage name like Razah, you'd expect his vocals to be stabs of gruff-toned, ragamuffin-style patois or jagged rhymes about the inner city's hottest blocks. But the singer born Martell Nelson is slicker than that. There's more romance than gangsterism in his R&B. His sound recalls the smooth edges of the soulful pop and reggae-tinged croons of his musical forebears Michael Jackson, Beres Hammond and Bob Marley.

"I sing emotional songs, but my name is Razah," says the 24-year-old Jamaican-born soulman. "It's like a balance."

On his self-titled debut album, Razah hopes to tip the scales overwhelmingly in his favor. Enlisting new beatmaking talent such as Rykeyz (who contributed four songs) as well as a few known producers including EZ LP, Green Lantern and Norwegian-born production duo, Stargate, Razah assures that the CD still will be his opportunity to shine.

Jay - Z Regrets "Retirement"

If you're like me, then you're wondering how Jay-Z feels about his much hyped about "retirement" and since then having recorded two albums.

Finally, here are Jay's thoughts on that:

“I think I pulled the retirement ripcord too many times. People looking at me like, ‘Please shut up.’ I was looking at (his retirement movie) ‘Fade to Black’ the other day. I was embarrassed. I couldn’t watch. I’m not playing with you. I had to turn it off,” he says. “I was cringing.”

Yeah, I would be embarrassed too, Hov!

He also went into what he thought about Lil Wayne a little bit saying,

"Do I think me and Lil Wayne should be in the same sentence? Me? No,” Jay says. “I mean, hopefully one day. He has to accumulate work. Put some classics under his belt.”

50 Cent Explains His Britney Performance Face

After Ryan Seacrest several times played the audio of Kanye's backstage tantrum, Fiddy called in to BFF Ryan’s KIIS-FM morning show to explain just how wrong Kanye is.

With an ever so subtle lift to Brit and diss to Kanye, Fiddy says West is just "not used to not being recognized." Kanye “thought Britney shouldn’t actually be opening the show. Almost like he forgot that Britney Spears sold 50 million records…He’s not thinking about her full body of work. She deserves to headline the show better than anyone else that was on it. Even in the state she’s in right now.”

As for when MTV cut away to Fiddy’s WTF?! face during Britney's "performance," he says, “I seen her do the run-through, and she was a lot more relaxed…It was a lot more entertaining without the celebrities in front of her. She started thinking about what these people are thinking.”

Brit's insecurity is apparently so heartbreaking Fiddy felt even worse when Sarah Silverman made her “little jokes,” and our fallen pop star "just went to cryin'."

That's Right Granny, Get Down!!!

I just saw this and loved it! Sit through the first few seconds and you'll love it!

If I threw a party, I'd want her as my DJ!

50 Cent Talks Retirement!

As you watch this video you can see that fitty is just not happy. Maybe it's because kanye is beating him on album sells- The homey from South Side is going to retire...maybe after the next album drops, which he hints he will not promote because he is just tired. Look for 50 on G-Unit albums and appearing on his his artist albums, just like Jay-Z, he will be a featured Artist...why not? The life of taking private jets all over is just plane sickening for 50!..ish let me get that!

I Like This Dude

This is Mark Ronson's new video for "Valerie." Amy Winehouse obviously sings the song but since she was on vacation with her husband Blake (after that nasty fight they had), she didn't make it to the video shoot, leaving Ronson really pissed off. It's cool b/c he doesn't hide the fact that Amy wasn't there and instead calls girls up to the stage that have some resemblance to Amy and calls them the "Winettes."

New Rapper On The Block - John Public

John Public is a new rapper on the indie scene hailing from Jersey. His style is reminiscent of early '90's Hip Hop mixed in with a white fratboy edge. You definitely should check it out.

Here are two tracks:

"Any of This" * Definitely am feeling this one!

"Fratboy World"

Anyways, Mr. Public just released a mixtape called "The Borrowed LP."

The press release says, "Reaching back into 2003 and selecting beats from Gang Starr’s “The Ownerz,” Public’s latest offering gives new life to Premier’s signature boom-bap sound as a themed, 12-track dose of wordplay. Each song works as part of a fictional night at a college house party, and interludes link the songs together to flesh out the story. Some have likened the overall vibe as being the hip hop equivalent of a classic garage-rock record. But Public describes it more like 'Slug-meets-Lupe at Vince Vaughn’s house. With Guiliani playing beer pong on the deck. With the Bush twins.'"

Apple Introduces The New iPhone,..I Mean, iPod!

Ok - here it is - the new reason why I hate Apple. I don't even have a year with my pretty video iPod yet and they go and do this! I don't need an iPhone because I prefer my blackberry, but I did drool over it when my friend got it. Now they go and unveil what looks like an iPhone but is really the new touch iPod. It's just like the iPhone except no camera, no phone.

Here's more info:
8mm wide and has the 3.5-inch widescreen display, and Wi-Fi, which will allow users to buy iTunes music wireless.

Jobs also announced a deal with Starbucks. When you enter a Starbucks with your iPod touch or iPhone, a Starbucks button pops up that gives you the option to buy music from the featured artist via the wireless connectivity.

The batter offers 22 hours of audio playback or 5 hours of video playback.

The iPod touch will be available this month in two configurations– an 8GB model for $299, and a 16GB for $399.

Timbo is not Big Pimpin'

Timbo and Jay-Z are being sued for their Big Pimpin Beat by Copyright co-owner Osama Admed Fahmy. Admed Fahmy filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Federal Court, claiming that Timbaland illegally replayed portions of "Big Pimpin" note-for-note, using a melody lifted from the song "Khosara, Khosara"

One thing is sampling from someones record and another is plain jacking their shit and not paying for what you used...come on Timbo you know the rules get to it - Its called publishing splits - I'm losing respect for you homey!

I cant wait to hear what Scott Storch has to say about Timbo now...LMAO!

50 Cent Says He Doesn't Know Who Joell Ortiz Is

Fiddy just did an interview with On Smash about a lot of issues, including upcoming rappers Tru Life, Papoose, Saigon and more. When asked about Joell Ortiz, 50 says, "He’s another that got dope wordplay. I just don’t know who he is at all based on the material he’s put out to this point. I still don’t have no idea who he is,” 50 said in the interview."

What do you think? Does 50 have a point?

Common & Q-Tip Join Forces

In an exclusive interview with XXLMag.com, A Tribe Called Quest frontman, Q-Tip, reveals he’s forming a new group with Common entitled The Standard. “Me and Common [are] getting ready to form a group,” ‘Tip tells XXLMag.com. “We’ll probably run it through the Uni [Universal Records] joint because we’re both on Universal.” According to The Abstract, it was Common who suggested the two from a group. “It was more of his suggestion,” he says. “He was like, “We just need to do a record.” So I’m really excited about that.” While the two haven’t started recording together yet, The Standard will start churning out material once the two starting touring together in a few weeks. As far as the production on the album, though, fans can expect Q-Tip to handle the majority. “I’m probably gonna do a lot of it,” ‘Tip says. “And we’ll get Kanye [West] on a couple things, but you know, that cat is busy.”

Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration but we just heard her new single "Gimme More" on Perez Hilton and the song is hot. It's catchy and it's very Britney..the stuff that made her the princess of pop.
