A report in British tabloid The Sun initially reported the news on Thursday, saying the 22-year-old singer and her boyfriend of four months were in a "state of shock." Allen's representative did not return MTV News' requests for comment as of press time.
Later in the day, Perez Hilton posted a statement from the singer's representative on his Web site. "We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage," Allen's representative said, according to PerezHilton.com. "She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."
