For those aspiring hip hop emcees who are not “battle rappers” but have incredible lyrical flow and songwriting skills, Monday Night Fight Klub has recently launched the “FK Anthem” contest in partnership with Music Nation. After the success of Season 1, the Monday Night Fight Klub principals have decided to create another “FK Anthem” as the official opening and closing song for Season 2 of Fight Klub. Through Music Nation, an artist development company and online music community, users will be linked directly to contest page via www.thefightklub.com where they will be able to download an original track produced by the famed DJ Green Lantern, create a song and then upload the finished MP3 for contest submission. The public, Executive Nick of Monday Night Fight Klub, and DJ Green Lantern will judge entries each week, with the winner being announced in mid-December. The winning artist will not only have their song as the official FK Anthem for all of Season 2, but also receive a signature mixtape created by DJ Green Lantern himself.

Hip Hop Don't Need To Be Saved

Crazy Legs of the infamous Rock Steady Crew sat down with SiTV to talk about Hip Hop and here's a snippet of what he had to say:

Hip-hop don’t need to be saved. The people that are portraying what they do as hip-hop, and it isn’t, are the ones that need to be saved. “Hip-hop is dead?” It all depends on which direction you’re looking in, or which station you’re listening to, what TV program you’re watching and what so-called hip-hop movie you’re looking at. I’m not some self-righteous hip-hop head. I think what Jeezy and all of them do, it’s entertaining and it’s fun. All we need is a little more balance and a little more respect for what it is as a culture in its entirety.

Someone has to be putting the pressure on Waymond Anderson, After he ties L.A.P.D Officers to the murder of Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G he comes and backs down and says he was lying - WTF!

“A prison inmate who had implicated a former Los Angeles Police Department officer in the shooting death of rap star Biggie Smalls has renounced his story, tying a new knot in the tangle of intrigue that surrounds the still-unsolved killing. Waymond Anderson, who was briefly a top-selling R&B artist and is serving a life term for murder, said in a recent deposition that he lied about LAPD involvement in the Smalls slaying as part of a “scam” concocted by two other convicts to squeeze a large monetary settlement out of the city. Smalls’ family has filed a wrongful death suit seeking damages from the city. In a surprising twist, Anderson accused the rapper’s family and its lawyer of participating in the scheme and offering to pay him for false testimony implicating the LAPD…. He said he was offered a percentage of any settlement if he testified that former Los Angeles Officer Rafael Perez had told him that another ex-officer, David Mack, was involved in the murder. In the deposition, he repudiated earlier statements to police investigators in which he described conversations with both of the disgraced officers. “I don’t know David Mack, I don’t know Rafael Perez,” Anderson told lawyers representing relatives of the slain rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace. The two officers “had no involvement with the . . . murder,” Anderson said under oath. At various points in the deposition, he said, “It was a lie, and I’m ashamed of it,” and, “I did what I had to do to survive….”
